Latam Link Building

A Colombian B2B brand, cited in Andean industry press

Procurement teams in Colombia were not reading Mexican guest posts. The campaign moved onto Colombian vertical publishers, with the sales team on the same sheet.

The brief

A regional Spanish package that never landed in Bogotá

The company sells industrial equipment and services to Colombian operators. Decision-makers search in Colombian Spanish for specifications, suppliers, and sector news. The previous vendor had treated Colombia as an overflow of a Mexican guest-post package. The articles were competent Spanish. They were not Colombian. They named the wrong regulators, the wrong ports, and the wrong trade bodies. Industry editors in Bogotá and Medellín declined them.

The backlink profile looked busy and did nothing for the queries that feed the sales pipeline. A few regional directories. A Mexican business blog. No citations on the energy, infrastructure, and industrial titles Colombian engineers actually open. The in-house team wanted a publisher file they could defend in a sales meeting, not a volume report.

The work

Vertical titles, Colombian Spanish, a sheet the sales team can open

The brief named Colombia, not 'the Andes'. Metric floors were set for industrial and energy publishers as well as national business press. The sample list, sent within 24 hours, showed the actual domains, the cities they belong to, and the price. The client signed off a pool that mixed national titles with vertical trade sites. Mexican leftovers were not offered as substitutes.

Copy was written in Colombian Spanish, with sector language a procurement reader would accept. Brand mentions sat next to specifications, not in the opening paragraph as an advert. Each live URL was tagged in the shared Google Sheet against the product line it was meant to support, so the sales team could see the citation without asking marketing for a recap.

What moved

Pipeline-adjacent queries, not vanity URLs

Over seven months, organic visibility on the Colombian B2B cluster rose 41 percent. Qualified referral visits from industry publishers reached 890. We do not claim closed revenue from those visits. The sales team can see which URLs sit next to which product lines in the sheet, and they can stop using any domain they do not want associated with the brand.

The qualitative shift was that Colombian editors started to treat the company as a source rather than as a regional advertiser. That is slower than a directory blast. It is also the only profile that survives a serious procurement search.

Client note

Sales can open the sheet and see the citation next to the product line. That is what we needed, not a volume PDF.
